Tour duh Hash

What began as one prospective GMs realization that he wasn't very hash-worldly, morphed into his decision to run with all of the local DC hashes in order to broaden his horizons and gain some hashxperience.  That grew into getting to know all of the other GMs and invite them to accompany him to all of the other groups during a week-long tour of each area kennel.  That thought lasted all of one beer, when it was decided that limiting such a great experience to the GMs was un-hashworthy and that it should be open to everyone.

Washington DC has long been recognized as one of the worlds hashing Mega-centers with each of the areas kennels having its own distinct flavor along with specific customs and traditions.  Many hashers run regularly with more than one hash, but few have run with them all.  With 10+ active area kennels, it is literally possible to hash every day of the week in the summertime.  For the past two years, we did just exactly that!

The inaugural DC Tour duh Hash started on Sunday, June 10th 2007 with Over the Hump kicking things off in Springfield.  The rest of the hashes followed, hosting hashers from all over the DC area and beyond.  We had two trails on Saturday and finished things up on Sunday with Baltimore/Annapolis in College Park.  Fourteen drunken fools managed to stumble their way through all 9 hashes in 8 days.

With such positive feedback, your area GMs decided to do it again in 2008.  We decided to extend it to 9 hashes in 9 days, starting on Saturday, June 14th with Mount Vernon and finishing the following Sunday  with Baltimore-Annapolis.  In all, 33 wankers managed to run all 9 stages of the tour.  We also named Just Frank - who started as a virgin and completed every leg - Tour duh Whore!

We did it all again in 2009, and 2010 we added another kennel (and another day of hashing).  The tradition now continues year after year.  Each kennel plans and organizes their own regular hash.  They provide the hares, plan their trails, collect your $$, and run the circle with their own songs, customs, and traditions like they do every week.  You just might run a new trail or learn a new song or two.  You may also be able to add to that rapidly expanding hash wardrobe you have, too.

More importantly, you’ll expand your circle of hashing friends and find new hashers to hit on, or to get hit on by.

So, what else have you got to do in June?  Save your liver?  Start training now, the DC Tour duh Hash will test your endurance as much as it tests your sobriety.  Will you be one of the drunken souls that completes every stage of the Tour?
